    Default Found Camera in Smokies near Pecks Corner

    Found Purple Olympus Camera on trail in Great Smoky Mountain National Park between near Pecks Corner Shelter. The camera belongs to a brunette couple. The man has an Amish style beard. If you know who it is, please respond. If you think it is you, please post picture for confirmation. I will be glad to pay for shipping.

    Maybe call Park HQ and ask them if there's a report of a lost camera?

    This is why the first shot on a camera should always be your drivers license or at least you license plate. If the camera is found by nice people, they will try to get it back to you.

    BTW, rkwhitlock, by definition you are not considered nice people.

    Wouldn't want a stranger knowing my DL information, and a license plate????? Lot of work for someone who might not want to do it.

    I'd rather write my name down and phone number with a Sharpie and take a photo of that - or even better, put someone on the camera itself. Just because it gets lost, then found - doesn't mean the battery will have power or someone will go through all photos to find out who it might belong to.

    Another way to to create a txt file with contact/reward information on it. Make it "read only" and then store it on the SD card.

    Personally for my reward I pay for shipping and will send them a new flash drive for their trouble.
