lodging near Springer
I am trying to find options for places to stay near Springer. There is five of us hiking and just looking for a decent place to stay the night before we hit the trail.
Hiker Hostel - awesome place to stay and it's inexpensive.
Blood Mountain Cabins is a really nice place right at Neel's Gap. Rates are reasonable and it's a very hiker friendly place.
Decent as in bit of a splurge? Stay in the lodge at Amicalola or one of the cabins there in the park and eat the breakfast buffet in the morning. Or Vogel Park on the other side of Neels Gap from Blood Mountain cabins also has large cabins and is very decently priced. I love Desoto Falls campground for camping. They are all nice places to kick back and chill before you begin your journey, different prices depending on your budget.

lodging near Springer and Amicalola Falls State park:
a. Amicalola Falls State Park lodge: great place, reasonable prices, great breakfast buffet before hitting the trail. Its at the top of the waterfalls, just off the approach trail
b. Max Epperson Shelter on the Approach Trail...near Amicalola Falls State Park visitor center
c. Hiker Hostel (near Dahlonega), can't beat the price, shuttles to Big Stamp Gap, and breakfast included
d. Super 8 motel in Dahlonega (next to a McDonalds, near grocery store and Post Office in Dahlonega). Dahlonega is 15 miles from Amicalola falls state park on SR-52
e. other nearby towns have budget motels: Dahlonega, Blairsville, Ellijay
