There have been 2 recent (unconfirmed) reports of an individual wearing camouflage and carrying a machete threatening Forest visitors in the Swallows Creek and Dicks Creek Gap Area. These areas are both on or near the A.T. in Georgia. Visitors need to be aware of this situation and take appropriate actions to avoid this individual if seen and report encounters to local law enforcement officials. Both of these incidents occurred in Towns County. Please share this information with your contacts.
