and Dicks Creek Gap the last week or so? Are
streams flowing ok? What's the latest on bear activity?

The tread is in excellent condition. There are no blowdowns and the water is flowing good. It is a nice hike .Expect all the wildflowers and other green plants to be in full leaf .Have a good hike!

There are some reports of bear activity. Do not stay the first 5 miles after Neal gap and be very careful about hanging food. It would be safe to stay in the shelter area and use the cables to hang food. Bears do not climb the cables.

Neels to Low Gap Shelter is well known for bear activity.
