Walker Gap parking?? Mile 563.1

Has anyone used the parking mentioned in AT guide/App Pages at mile 563.1 called Walker Gap? Was talking to rambunny on the phone about a shuttle pickup from there and she hadn't heard/done a stop at this spot.


BTW, she seems like a GREAT lady. Very helpful and accommodating. Please toss some business their way while passing through Atkins.

I checked the parking website but don't see any parking listed for Walker Gap but there are some others not too far from there: http://rohland.homedns.org/at/state/...&sectionID=166

It's a little far to get into because it is inside of Burke's Garden. The road is also heavily rutted for a short bit, so good clearance is needed. There are a few spots at the trailhead.

Emphasis "heavily rutted" and "good clearance is needed." Most folks park along the side of the road and walk up to the ridge.--Kinnickinic
