Hello My name is Jen and my husband Keith and I are planning an early June 2011 SOBO thru-hike. My trail name is NoDak, but my husband hasn't found his yet. I am so excited and can't wait for it to be June!

Ive been looking through the pages and am delighted to find any other Southbounders. I am planning to leave mid to late June and cannot wait. Hope to see you all out there!

I agree. I almost wonder if we should start a sobo thread up...

Hello all,

My husband Justin & I are planning to thru-hike SB starting June 1 (or whenever Katahdin opens) in 2011. We don't have trail names yet and I don't know about the approach trail yet ... too far away to think about!

My son and I are both doing this. He hasn't chosen a trail name and probably won't. We will both celebrate our birthdays on the trail. Good luck to everyone and "keep walking, you're almost to the top. After that it flattens out all the way to the big "K".

any additional info that you want the world to know - Committed to getting to Hot Springs in about 24 days. After that we'll see. How far ahead can you plan anyway?

The list is up and ready for viewing, 'Class of 2011'. You can find it from the homepage in the left pane by clicking the WhiteBlaze Thru-Hikers and then the 'Class of 2011'.

Right now there are 246 hikers signed up!!! If you have tightened down a date and would like to update just let me know (there are alot of 'other Mar' and 'unsure'). Also, if you've made any other changes or if I've made any mistakes, let me know and I'll update as required.

WOW! I'm absolutely 'giddy' with excitement!! Thank you so much for all the time you've put into this Mt. Squid.

It's great to get a visual of who's doing what and when. Awesome!

Just to keep the Mtn Squid busy! I'm going to head out on 3-20 instead of 4-1 so that I can be at Ron Haven's April Fool's shindig. A great time this year and looking forward to it again.
