Can anyone recommend a solar device to keep a charge on my ipod while backpacking?

No, not for the east anyway. Check out the Minty Boost.

i have a cheap one that might work. its from infinitie, got it from best buy. i tried to use it for my phone, but it doesnt put out enough amps. it has multiple connectors and i am not familiar with i pods. i never had one so i dont know if its a micro usb, or some other connection. anyway, i m not sure of the output and what it is that an i pod needs to charge. also i m not sure that using solar power on the At is going to be a viable option due to the large amounts of shade that we walk through. where do you intend to backpack?

    Try this: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-...ger-aka-Might/

I'm not particularly handy electronically myself so let me know if you decide to try it and if it works.
