    Default Fire destroyes

Just an FYI. I pick-up a lot of Section Hikers at the Egremont Inn, but have no clue on how popular it is with Tru-hikers. So as a FYI a week ago (Dec 11) a blaze destroyed it. See attached article.

Oh my gosh we stayed there on my hike in '07!!!! They were great to us too. What an awful, awful thing.

I want to embed a picture I took of our room but still can't figure out how to do it.

    Default A real loss

The Egremont Inn was a really nice place and hiker-friendly to boot.

I stayed there during a 2007 section hike. Very nice place. I was somewhat concerned when there because, in the room that I was staying in, the floor, walls and ceiling were all wood. It was almost like being in a shelter. But you were on the third floor. There was also a rope emergency ladder next to the window. Made me feel uneasy.

What is really sad is that this place was over 230 years old. Man, I hope they rebuild it. It was one of the few places to stay in the area.
