Default There are still a few SOBOs's in N.VA

Got back from a section yesterday and wanted to report there are still a few SOBO's in N.VA had dinner tuesday at Dick's Dome with SOBO Headstrong (start date 31 Sept) in from Bear's Den. He reported at least 3 hikers behind him, and shelter logs showed a few had passed through Thanksgiving weekend. Good Luck SOB's Keep Walking.

Has anyone seen a SOBO named "BeeKeeper?" He started in August. I met him in the 100 Mile Wilderness.

Wow, the forecast in Charlotte, NC this Saturday is a rain/snow mix. Imagine the mountains and foothills will get clobbered.

    Here's wishing them good luck!

My friends are actually in N.Va right now. They just got into Front Royal this past Saturday and my other friend is meeting them in Buena Vista, VA to resupply them.

There were 5 SOBOs at the ATC headquarters in Harpers Ferry this past Sunday.

Probably some of the same folks mentioned above.

Good luck to all of them!

We met a Canadian southbounder just south of HF a couple of days ago. Very nice guy. He had hiked the IAT starting in June and doesn't plan to finish the AT until March. They are forecasting the first real snow in the mountains this weekend. Nothing huge, but definitely cold.

GIGI and Bugcatcher are hiking with LETITBE and Delta they spent the night at Ed Garvey shelter on the 28 Nov. They were talking about staying at Harper's Ferry the 29th to get her picture taken at the ATC office LETITBE said he was just hiking a section but seem to suggest he might continue all the way to Springer.

yeah I've seen thirst i came home for an extended break to get some warmer gear for christmas. it got freakin cold. spaz was a day ahead of me when i peeled off. G.G. is in the smokies with let it be. headstrong was a few days ahead of me. i can't emphasize it enough- that first snow was no joke- it was six inches and it stuck around- turned to ice. and the temp dropped to seven my last night out. i'll probably head back out to the shenandoahs to continue right after christmas.
