Default Thruhiking The PCT, Need Lightweight Version Of New Balance 1201

I used New Balance 1201's on the AT but want to go to a lighter version for the PCT. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the link. None of those shoes come in 2E which is my width.

I started wearing the 1201's late in my AT hike when I had lost a significant amount of weight and was strong. I'll be starting the PCT heavy and weak.

I don't want to spend a lot of money trying to find the right fit like I did on the AT. I feel comfortable and confident in the 1201's.

But will the 1201's be too much shoe for the PCT? I mainly want to know if I'll be okay in the desert section with that much material around my feet as I've never hiked in that kind of environment. And, is a lighter shoe going to support me at my heavier weight?

That looks like an awful lot of material for the desert. I would find a nice breathable pair of running shoes. It's nothing like New England with rocks,roots,etc.... to roll your ankles on. I wore trail-runners the whole way.

well my friend Asics are always a great choice. They are super light weight and the toebox has a bit more width.

In Asics, I would stay away from the 1140. The 2140 seems better.

Some trailrunners in this brand. Trabucco? 2E is easy. Quit your grumping.
