Default PA shakedown/ 2 day hike in October? Anyone game?

I'm doing a shakedown (purely to test my newest gear for my thru, which I'm starting in February 2010) sometime in late Fall this year (Mid October to mid November, sometime in that time frame), just for two days, starting in Delaware Water Gap going the seven miles to Kirkridge Shelter and back. Anyone want to come? 2010 thru hikers especially welcome!

i might be up for it....you'll have to remind me as it gets closer though.

what gear are you looking to test? its not always necessary to test gear on the trail, though it is more fun.

It's really just an excuse to hike and make sure my stuff is warm enough. I know it all works, but I'm excited! And I'll remind anyone who wants to be reminded closer to the date.

I think this would be awsome if I can bring a trail dog in training.....

I like the lineup of those have weighed in....

Might have to bow out if I change jobs though.
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

It's definitely not a bad section for dogs- once up Mount Minsi it is pretty flat and soft.

I might be up for this too, depending on date.

It's my home section of trail. I should hike it more often.

Yep- as long as you aren't one of the "oh, it's okay to keep my soaking wet dog in a full shelter" kinda people.

What kind? (And keep in mind, PA is very rocky, so he may need to toughen up his feet a bit. Though it'll be short- not long days)

Naaa, he dont need no toughn up. He did 1,000 miles last year, got bit by a copper head (kept on hiking), got bit by another dog (kept on hiking), had heat problems (decided he needed a break at that point... ) .

Oh yea, Erwin is 45 pound, short haired, Red heeler.
