Storms are exciting, but the mud can just flat out suck... it's all part of the package. Just keep goin' man and some afternoons you'll be praying for rain.
Not all who intend to stay at shelters actually make it, and those who arrive late sometimes find they can't sleep in the shelter. Besides, I don't like to have someone snoring in my ear and mice crawling over my head, and, since I snore, I don't want to impose that on anyone else. Tarp, tent, or hammock. Use shelters only as a last resort or kitchen for meals. Visiting in a shelter can be rewarding, but I like the option to sneak off to my hammock when I've had enough (which gets earlier every year lately).
As I live, declares the Lord God, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn back from his way and live. Ezekiel 33:11

I have been thinking about bringing a tarp as well to set up overhead so I can set up my tent and stay dry if it came down to setting up the tent in a down pour. I just don't know where I could pick up a nice light weight tarp with the lines I would need before Saturday.
