Change of plans:
Now NOBO, tentative start date of April 1 (or thereabouts), and maybe on the approach trail. Planning on an overall solo journey, going at my own pace, but would love to meet up and hike with others, especially in the first few days.
Still trying to figure out transportation to Springer (from my home in Maine) on a budget. Hitchhiking will be my last resort.

Since I started hammocking, I can envision this adventure as sooooo much more fun.

If there is anyone in the St. Louis, Mo area who has done a thru on the AT i need a lot of advice.
Also i have a severed nerve in my left leg just above the ankle. causes pins and needles just about all the time. would like to hear from others with foot neuropathy on how to deal with any problems this might cause with long distance hiking
