Default Recommended section for June hike?

I have all of June to hike. In another forum someone suggested going NOBO from I-80. Opinion/ideas?

June is tricky because most of the PCT north of Kennedy Meadows (i.e, the start of the Sierra Nevada) is under snow then. You could start at Walker Pass or Mojave and hike north. This gives you some experience with desert hiking, albeit through some of the harshest of deserts. Then, into the Sierra which, depending on your level of comfort on snow, is fantastic at that time of year. Challenging also. You would have enough time to hike to Tuolumne Meadows or to South Lake Tahoe, or maybe Sonora Pass (in between), during the month.
