    Default Looking for Thru-Hiking Partner/Partners

Plan to thru-hike in March 09 thru Oct 09 depending on how long it takes to finnish? I am a 50 yr old woman, heavy set so I am alittle slow, non judgemental, openminded. I am Looking for someone or several some-one's??? That would like to hike the AT in 09!

I am interested in anyone who wouldnt mind hiking with a slower hiker? Would like to hike the trail together camping, or shelters, I hate to camp "Alone" hiked basically alone the last two section hikes I have done. Please respond to this or email me and we can talk about it!

You won't be alone during that time, there will be plenty of people since you will be in season. You may want to voluntarily camp alone some times just to get away from the circus in Georgia and North Carolina.

If you do start out with someone put some time frame on things like reevaluating the situation at the GA/NC border and don't be afraid to be open about how the partnership is going. You don't want things to get to a head and have a boxing match in the woods and end up with a trailname like this girl that is SOBOing righ now that we called "Muhammad Eileen"(she never took ownership of that name, but everyone loved it).

    Default Thank's "Whiskey

I hear what you are saying, keep your hiking options open and all. It's just that I have hiked twice now and (section hikes one for six days, in March, and one for 16 days in June and I was alone at shelters for a Qaurter of the time.

I like to hike with someone, so I am hoping to find someone on here who would like to "Thru-hike", saftey in numbers etc. Anyhow thanks forthe input!

Hey Cat! I am also starting in early March. My plans are to take a train into Gainsville, have the Hiker Hostel pick me up and then the next day have them take me to USFS 42 parking lot.
E-mail me if you would like to chat.
