We ran into him at Hurricane Mtn Shelter late May and camped with him a few nights. He was having foot problems and also had a bad staff infection. He said he took off a few days in Damascus before hitting the trail again. A friend of his named Low Gear joined up with him and we left them at Partnership. Nice guy, I hope he healed up.

I was just thinking about Y2K today actually, how weird!
Anyway, Thor told me that he hiked all the way up through CT and then perhaps got injured again. Thor told me that he hadnt heard from/seen him since then though, so that would have been awhile ago.

I met Y2K in Kent, CT in August and then again at the Mass border. Very nice fellow, had a bum foot. Last time I saw him he was limping to Maine, anyone know if he finished???

    Hey, C-Bass!
Last Confirmed sighting of Y2K was in Manchester Center, VT, and I'm pretty sure he made it to Maine...don't know if he'll be able to summit, though...there are about 30 hikers stuck in Millinocket right now, due to all the snow on Big K.

Hey C-Bass! How you doin? Got a picture of you, Franklin and Keychain blowing bubbles at the "watch yo head" shelter in my WB picture gallery. I ran into Keychain a few times, once in NY and again in Maine, but never saw Y2K again, or too many of the other hikers we started with.

The other ham radio guy on the trail was K1YPP or just K1. He used a radio I designed and built for backpackers.

I hiked with Y2K and Loon a bit really early on, after Hot Springs. He mentioned staying in Maine after finishing to build a boat and aqua blaze the east coast in the Spring. Has anyone found him yet?? I'm in Maine and would love to catch up with him and any other hiker trash! GUMBY
