Talk to standing bear farm 423-487-0014. It is located just off I40 Waterville Exit. Trail is only feet from the hostel.

    Hey VibeDog!

I would highly recommend these 2 places:

Jeff and Nancy Hoch at The Hike Inn at Fontana Dam.... They work all over the GSMNP.... URL is www.thehikeinn.com

Erik and Vesna Plakanis at "A Walk in the Woods" in Gatlinburg also works the entire GSMNP.... URL is www.awalkinthewoods.com

Have a great time out there!

Jeff and Nancy are good people. Jeff has shuttled me, and this spring, he had one of their shuttlers take me to Springer from his place. She was really nice too, and that was a long haul!

Their hotel is simple, but clean and pleasant. I actually locked my keys in my (&(*^* truck at 5:30 am that day, and they got a lock-out service there in short order.

I enjoyed Standing Bear, and I really liked Curtis (never met Maria), but I didn't need any shuttles to or from Davenport Gap.

    Default GSMNP Shuttle Service

    vibedog,

If you haven't found shuttle service yet, call me at 828-631-1394. I will be glad to take you from one end to the other. All I ask is a little gas money.

I've used Curtis several times and have/will recommend him to others. He's got a nice place...you should make a point to stay at Standing Bear sometime.

We use the The Hikers Inn and they were excellent.we had one person who had to come out a Clingmmans Dome because if injury and they were more than accommodating. We stayed at the Fontana Hilton and not the inn.

Last summer I was needing the same service from Fontana to Davenport Gap. My mother-in-law new a friend of hers that had a shuttle service in that area. His name is Gene Laney "Genes Shuttle Service" 828-497-7457. He shuttled 3 of us up to Davenport Gap (2 hours, 96 miles) for $120.00. He was a very nice and friendly man and the rate was very resonable.........
