Another Buckeye! Have a great hike.

Trail Name: Was Guinea Pig last year, but I'm startin' fresh. We'll see.
Direction: NOBO, probably flipping before Harper's Ferry.
Start Date: April Fools' Day.
Approach Trail. I'm hitching from Gainsville, so unless I get a ride to that gap (forgot the name of it) I imagine so.

I planned to do the southern half of the trail and did just that- with much yellow blazing and a bit of pink blazing (and lots of good times). This year, I'm a lot more serious and am planning to go all the way.

I did half the trail for 1200 bucks last year and this year I intend to do the whole thing for around 1000. I also don't plan to carry a pack (it was always nearly empty last year anyway) and make everything myself 'cept my chacos (and maybe some snazzy REI clothes).

Might bring some teenagers along, like last year, as emergency rations.

Hi Squid, Add us to the '09 list. Probably will NOBO from Springer, then at Damascus skip up to Newfoundland to do the IAT SOBO, continuing on the AT to Damascus. That's our plan as of right now, but who knows??? Starting at Springer "around" April 2 but not sure about start date either at this point... depends on work situation. Approach Trail...Chuck says yes, Tigger says no way. Chuck is actually working on doing the entire ECT - Eastern Continental Trail (Key West to Newfoundland). Go Chuck Go!

OMG...I am so excited! I got a 6 month leave of absence approved from my employer and have to be out of my apartment by March 31. I think i'll start on my B-day for good luck. This summer is going to be a blast! Can't wait to get to meet everyone out there.
