    A chicane is an artificial feature creating extra turns in a roadway, used in motor racing and on city streets to slow cars. On modern raceways, chicanes are usually located after long straightaways, making them a prime location for overtaking.



    I'm sorry, I haven't thru-hiked yet, so I'm not sure what a chicane (see picture above) has to do with the picture that may or may not have you, (whether you exist or not) in it. Looking at the chicane above, I STILL don't see any white blazes.

    Why oh why would one need the chicanes.....it is like the roundabouts...nobody likes them and we are not English.

    There is a carney circus across the street, and I mean just across the street, with recorded hawking in what I assume is Spanish (given that I'm in Honduras). It was kind of funny the first couple of days. It's been a week now. Guess it's a good thing I don't have a gun, that LOUD speaker would be history...
