if its the motion that is the issue then just turn off animations in your browser - then all you see is a dumb banana standing there lookin foolish instead of the dancing banana

if you want to be selective use Firefox + adblock and selectively disable the ones you don't want to see

But you said there's no such thing as a Woodsy.

I have tabulated the poll regarding smilies:

    For smilies = whole bunch
    Against Smilies = not much

    Yes, there may be times when this is really good advice for people who don't like moving smilies . . . . . . . . . . .
    . . . . . . like now

I have read others that feel the same way. I am just not sure why they are on a board like this. Maybe on the Barney and Friends Friends forum - but why here?
There is so much good info here that it would be nice to read and post without that distraction.
    Just my 2 cents.
hootyhoo, I find animated smileys and ads distracting & annoying as well. You can't eliminate the graphics but you can stop the animation through settings on your web browser. I have mine set to play the animation once and then stop. If for some reason I want to see it again, I can clear my cache and reload the page. I haven't done this since the butt-shaking baby was deleted a few months ago. The dancing bananas on this website were for me the last straw.

If your connection is slow, you might also want to download ad-reducing software and do a good check for viruses and other mal-ware.

Or get a sense of humor and suck it up like everyone else.
