    Hi all.

Don't remember seeing this website posted here yet.

It has links to the local media outlets' coverage.

FWIW, I figure there's a lot of us who hike alone, and don't always leave a SAR plan, especially on day hikes we're well familiar with in areas that are frequented by others.

I live in Sautee Nacoochee (Near Helen) just heard about the missing hiker and the police looking for a person of interest.
Boy I hope that she is found alive. Those who are leaving March 1st. or earlier. Do not hike alone until this "person of interest" is found.

Yes, last night when we thought it was just a case of a lost hiker. He was at Josh and Leah's last night. Emailed me back that they would be hiking across Blood Mtn today. I'm waiting for a TJ update.

Well, we have a name and where the POI lives. Any chance that he could be a WB member?

Don't know if I was much help, but I just called the Unicoi Sheriff. I was hiking south that weekend for the new years eve bash on springer, and passed 5 teenagers from Mississippi who were gonna spend new years eve at Blood Mtn Shelter. Chances are they would be drinknig, so would probably wake up late. Hopefully they can track down these kids because there is a good chance they would have woken up late enough to hike by the missing girl and anyone else in the area at the time. I know it wasn't a lot of good info, but I figure everything helps.

From the link above....."Although his mother's body was discovered hours away in Brevard North Carolina, Bryant is searching the woods near Ducktown. An ATM there at the People's Bank may have captured a picture of the killer. On October 22, at around 7:30 p.m., someone walked up to the ATM in a yellow hooded rain slicker and used the couples bank card to withdraw $300. The bank's surveillance cameras show a man walking up to the machine, and also captured a tight, chest-height shot of the person at the ATM."

This POI was wearing yellow. A coincedence perhaps/probably.

Though I couldn't find the thread, it seems to me that there was a discussion on WB a couple of weeks ago concerning another hiker with "bad teeth" that had been causing problems or otherwise harrassing other hikers. I'm not really sure, bit it seems to me it had something to do with the female hiker that had to leave the trail due to fear of this individual. Does anyone remember that discussion we had and do you think it could be related?

WOW, This is really a downer. Given what they are telling us about her, you kinda get the impression she'd be ok. (did she intend on an overnighter??? Did she have gear)

unfornunately, its looking like this is going the other way. I hope to God they find her alive.

prayers to the family and friends of this woman, God speed to the searchers

Thanks MOWGLI. Sure hope they find her in good shape and soon. I may be a long ways away but I wish there was something I could do more to help than just pray for her safe return.

    Default Nancy Grace coverage

Nancy Grace program is doing pretty lengthy coverage (Headline News/CNN) which is on now, and plays again later tonight.
