Sages is a favorite camp site for me in CT.

It's been awhile since anyone's posted on Sages Ravine, so I thought I'd update.

The log bridge you cross to get to the camping area is out, and looks to have been out for some time--it washed away during Irene some years back, then got replaced, then the replacement broke in the middle, now there's just a couple of pieces left. So, it's a rock hop, and a ford when the water is high.

I visited weekend before last--trails very dry, mud season is already over in the Taconics. Bear boxes are rusted out in places--I repaired the one near the group site with metal tape, not sure how long that will hold up. But it kept the mice out that night!

There was an established fire ring at the group site, which should not have been there--ashes still warm from the day before. Hmmm.

A beautiful spot--I visit once or twice per year, but was held off last year by a balky knee--nice to be back!

The bridge to Sages Ravine campsite got knocked out in 2021 by Hurricane Henri/Ida.
