I guess you may have to go to plan B and use that old standby of yours. Since you suggested this trip ... you better show up - it's just good form (since you are the organizer of this cluster fork).

oh no, I'm going for sure...just much rather get this damned pack

APPARENTLY REI doesn't stock granite gear, neither does Hudson Trial, EMS, H n H, bass pro, and a number of other places I've called

I'll just suck it up and tough it out if need be

As you are about to cross the bridge into WV, you will see the flashing traffic light, turn right there, the outfitters will be almost directly on your left.

If you go across the bridge, you went to far

It'll just suck. I just preffer snow. Rain's a killer in these temps. In short if it rains it's just more dangerous at these temps - IMHO. It does not affect my plans.

For one thing the ozone is cheaper ... but looks like it's not as sturdy as the meridian.

Looks like the meridian is made for thru-hikes.

IMHO - go with what you have. Shop for your pack at REI where you can try everything on at the store ... and if your not happy you can return the pack for any reason.

Well, I've got my old Kelty Yukon packed and everything all situated and everything, so I'm going to use that....

forgot to buy some poptarts, so I'll pick that up on the way down to HF

aside from that, I'll be there with bells on
