    Rick,

What does posting a trail name or not posting a trail name have to do with humility?

I'm honestly not sure I understand what you mean.

This came up during a recent post on Ward Leonard. Being able to instantly recognize and welcome new members is pretty important, IMO. I know I was welcomed and encouraged to participate in the begining (for better or worse) and it went a long way towards making me feel at home here. Just .02 more cents.

I think the figure should be restored.

The figure does indeed give people an idea about a particular poster.

And I'm not saying that a great number of posts is necessarily indicative of someone being a "good" or significant poster. Maybe it just means they have a lot of time on their hands! Lord knows a lot of my posts over the years could have been skipped. Likewise, there are lots of people here who post infrequently or hardly at all, and it'd be a mistake to infer that their opinion doesn't matter or should be ignored because of the infrequency of their posts.

But on some occasions, we see brand new, or very infrequent posters saying things or advocating things that can indeed be questioned based on the infrequency of their posts or their new-ness to the website. Sometimes, it's quite useful to discover that someone who is particularly outspoken actually has had minimal contact with, or minimal previous connection to the website.

In short, I don't see anything wrong with providing the number of posts that any one individual has contributed, and I'm curious as to why this was changed.

I also like the way that new folks are immediately welcomed to the website when people see their first post, and I'd like to think these early greetings give people a good feeling about Whiteblaze, and encourage further participation.

    Mags,

The context was lost when Wolf's post regarding the size of my manhood was deleated by the mods.

Looks like the post count has been re-instated. Gotta say I think it's a good thing. Score has nothing to do with it. Nice to welcome new members.
