Nope. Just do the test burns outside because of the fumes.

Use hardwre cloth, use a bud bottle anything that resembles a potstand. Just get it to hold the fiberglass tight to the wall of the catfood can. I used stainless steel so it would last forever. (Nothing ventured Nothing Gained)

Once the FF is perfected you won't need another stove

2 cups of snow melt faster than 2 cups of ice.

    Don't use the yellow snow

i saw one of these at the store last week and am giving it some thought. if i could cut the bottom of it it should expand to the size of the fancie feast can. not sure about stability or how it'll hold up to the heat over an extended period of time though

I still don't understand. Cats don't have opposable thumbs. How do they light the stove?

Should work, buy the 4.5 inch one.

Wrap the fiberglass cloth around the inside of the can first. Use scotch tape to hold it there. Cut the mesh out of the ring. form the mesh so the cut edge will go into the can first to the bottom of the can. Your pot will rest on the flattend hump of the mesh.

I hope it works. It will be a new way to make a stove.

hehehe. i think i'll give it a try. if not i always have the option to take it out and try another material

i'm also currently pondering ideas on how to make a collapsible windscreen. i'm sick of having to mess w/ my baking pan one everytime i take it out of the pot. it's all distorted and bendy. i'm thinking on how i could make one that would fit snugly b/t my cookpot and my homemade cozy. i use a bigger pot than most do (1.3 L) so my windscreen often has to be a little on the larger size

I cut up my sink drainer for the sake of stove science

The catfood can is too high for the mesh. Had to reduce the height of the can. It's rough cut but was able to get a quick photo off to show what I was talking about. I'll post again when it's on fire.
