Anybody have experience on the MST here in the eastern part of NC? I live so close and just discovered it. I am getting de Hart's book on the trail but thought some of ya all might an idea what this trail is like. Alot yellow blazing, bike paths, that sort of thing.

    Default Mountain to Sea Trail

I have walked a few small segments of it in the Pisgah National Forest in Western NC. It start's at Clingmans Dome in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It ends with a 40 mile beach walk on the Outer Banks.

It's a great trail, and the group that is building it, Friends of the Mountain to Sea Trail (FMST) could sure use some help. Their president, Jeff Brewer, just backpacked the 900+ mile length of it in (2) months. He finished 2 weeks ago.
