You speaking for yourself or Socrates? Or both?

June 1... yeah, you were saying that a few months ago, but I hear you're still (or back) in Swampscott? Wha happened?

    Cool Down to the wire...

Well I am on track for a SOBO adventure ... looking for some advice on trail conditions in ME and NH... I will be starting my trek mid Nov - from edge of Baxter park (return next summer -good excuse for moto ride and camping to summit Kat). Will have to skip ferry (too late in season to risk it says the folks up there - and if they say its unsafe they know) after that I hope to make my way to Hanover by end of year, give or take as weather permits. Im really not in any great hurry and am pretty much doing this now by choice of season. I know winter = slow and am planning as such- so any help on trail conditions - blaze probs for SOBOs or any other such help would be great - I have another post outside this one if you are keeping this clean as a registry... Hope to see Springer by April ... and hope to find some other crazy winter hikers along the way.

Last winters vacation was the Antarctic continent - this will be far less remote - but without doubt it will be a more personal journey.

    Default NOBO sometime in March

I am plan to start my first thru hike some time in March.....depends on the weather but I expect to be on the trail the first week in March. Going solo but wouldn't mind some company along the way. I have been planning this adventure for a long time and can't wait to get started. I am a former marathoner, triathlete, and adventure racer but I have never been as excited as I am about this adventure! I hope to see you on the trail.

Thinking about changing start date to March 1. Like berightback, I am hittin' it solo and wanted some companionship (Feb 15 seems a bit lonely, no?). Sloth...I recently graduated from ETSU and am excited to see another person from Johnson City!!!

Kirby here, glad to see you made it over in one piece. I am on track for my March 1st start.

I bet 1$ dollar to everyone I meet I will be the youngest person starting on March 1st, or maybe even anyother date, 16, 17 two weeks into the trail.

    Kirby
