General Lee, it looks like you are going to have a few Yanks pushing you home. I know of one die-hard Yank personally.

Weeble (as in weebles wobble, but they don.t fall down LOL)
    NOBO
May 6 from either Harpers Ferry, WV or Ducannon, PA.

I used to backpack a lot (Europe, Wind Rivers, Grand Canyon) but stopped when, somehow, making a living got in the way. I've dreamed of hiking the AT since I was 16 B.C. (that's, Before Cable - haha) and now that I'm retired, will make that dream come true. Hey, just look for the slow, wobbley guy with the ever-present grin on his face. Hope to see all of ya' out there!

Why not take United or American? Better yet, why go north in the first place?

Approach Trail: Local hiker, done it more times than I remember, so, No.
    About 15 March +- a week.

I certainly hope I'm not being premature, but if all goes as planned this will be Thru-hike take two. Take one was Y2K, Springer to Mt. Rogers, came off with a busted knee which has since been rebuilt.

    Default winter hike

I'm wanting to leave around Jan. 1st. I hope there is a winter this year. I'm taking a Hennessy Hammock. I'm still wrestling w/ sleeping bag issues, synthetic or down and how warm a bag.
