That guy without a trail name.
    SOBO
    June 20th-July 1st...I'm staying flexible.

I'll be the young guy hiking south...Though I do grow a mean beard already. (I'm 20). I'm just starting, and seeing how far I can get. No real goals, just time away from everything. I hope there will be some others around!

Think twice about growing that beard. MinnesotaSmith seems to have a theory that women are turned off by men with beards. I am honestly turned off by women with beards myself.

lmao @ bulldawg - bearded women do make a decent living in the circus though. Or so I'm told.

    Registering I am:
no trail name yet, so just signing 'zack d.' in the registers
    NOBO
Started: April 12 - made it past Neels but sidelined for another week due to injury

Guess I should register for the class of 2008 since I am sitting at Neel's Gap. Everything is going well, a little sore but nothing vitamin I can't take care of. Beware the mice at Gooch Gap shelter, need to patch a hole in my tent. Battled with the mouse and as you can see I survived, sorry I cant say the same for the mouse. So far everthing has exceeded my expectations. Adios, see you up the trail.

Haha, I just read that thread last night. It was very interesting, to say the least.

I will be eagerly awaiting a study on how many males find female beards attractive. Get on it!

Indygirl checking in. Off trail in Smokey's with an eye injury. Detachment of viterious. Currently under doc care. I am to return to AT May 24th. I completed 240 miles of journey and will flip flop so that I can hike with AT frens, catching up with them then going back to the Smokeys in fall to finish where I departed the trail. Await release from doctor. I sure miss my AT frens. Indygirl www.trailjournals.com/indygirl

Depends on what you mean by a "female beard".

    Default Change in plans!!

Change in my Thru hike for 2008!
Well I had started off in April as a NOBO BUT soon after some problems at home had me heading back north by car. All is taken care of and I am going back to my thru hike BUT ...... this time as a flip flopper. Planning to do Harpers Ferry to Maine and Harpers Ferry to Georgia. Leaving very end of May or very beginning of June. Hoping to find some hiking partners/friends/buddies since I had to part with mine and she will still be in southern Virginia when I start.

Also, change in my hike. Started NOBO April 19th but had to get off twice due to blisters. I'm gonna do a sobo starting July 1st. Got the blister thing worked out. Special thanks to the ministry group from Alabama at Trail Days...you were all a blessing!
