Nice - I must have skimmed right over that one.

Unrelated... Just checked the Dollar General website and they're not showing any 9.25 oz Vienna Sausage cans. I'll still stop by on the way home from work, but I'm not optimistic. Seems like those may be less common than the 4.6 ounce cans. They do list a 10 ounce Vienna Bites option in stock, so I'll check on that as well.

Yes, the vienna bites are more popular, shoulda said those originally :-) Check Familyy Dollar also...maybe Dollar Tree has them.

Wow, I forgot I had done that test! Too bad it did not include how it might affect the rate of cooling which would have been nice to know.

We know from experience that a good cozy keeps food (and coffee!) much warmer for a long time.

When I prepare meals, they can't cool down fast enough for me I heat my water to approx 180* and dump it into a ziploc with MountainHouse goodness and then wait 5 min. It don't take long to rehydrate and takes too long to cool down enough to eat It has to get down to approx 140 degrees in order to eat it comfortably.

Time is going by fast You did a great deal of testing with the Inferno and the no spill Starlyte XL3

I ordered more of the lids that were used at the time of the Inferno testing, should have them by the end of the week and will make them available.

Put me on your list for one of those lids please....

And, while on the subject of lids... anyone have a lid that fits the MLD 520?

    And....

Bob, is that the windscreen we searched for a few trips ago? The one that did the 'disappeared from here and showed up over there' trick?

I'm also interested in a lid when the time comes.

The DIY windscreen (that got away!) is similar to the one in the photo above, made with 4mil Ti sheet vs the original 5mil in the pic.

As you know, Zelph's version works very well, maybe better than mine although I never tested them head-to-head. His is certainly neater and more finished, and I never hesitate to recommend it to people interested in this setup.

Lids came in yesterday. I'll create a listing on my site by the end of the week.

The MLD 520 dimensions: 3.4" wide x 3.7" tall I'll look around and see what I can find.

I was inspired to make a dozen windscreen/potsupports for the Infernos. I'll finish them up tomorrow and will be ready to ship on Thursday. I have 2 new Inferno Pots that I can put together complete kits with aluminum lids and Starlyte XL3's if someone is interested.

If you put them on the site, I'll forward the link to a few friends that might be interested. No guarantees, but I've been speaking highly of the system ever since I started using it.

    zelph,

I'm in for a windscreen/potstand and a Starlyte XL3. I already have the Inferno pot and one of the UL lids you made years ago.

    Thanks!
