I LIVE IN WESTERN N.C..I DO ALOT OF HIKING IN PISGAH FOREST AREA AND GREAT SMOKIES .I ALSO LIKE TO SECTION HIKE THE A.T. AND MST TRAILS.I WORK A LOT BUT I LIKE TO GET OUT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.ANY ONE INTERESTED GOING OUT PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

for just general backpacking keep an eye on the trips page from TheBackpacker.com - http://www.thebackpacker.com/trips/ there are often trips planned for areas close to NC - you may also want to introduce yourself over there but until you hike with some of the people there do not be surprised if you are treated with some suspicion (trolling being considered an art form on that forum).

I am looking to do a stretch btw Deep Gap and Fontana Dam over Memorial Day weekend. I am planning to start Friday mornign and can hike thru Monday evening. I'm really looking for someone willing to shuttle each other and I don't have to complete the entire length.
