    Default Tent for high winds

What tent do you have or wish you had to handle wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph.
    Other thoughts on that tent.

I have experienced high winds on Jane Bald in the Roan Highlands multiple occasions.
1 trip I used my Hilleberg Anjan2GT and the other I used my Stratospire2. Both tents held up great. If I had to choose one specifically for bad weather/ heavy winds it would be the the Hilleberg brand...When fully guylined out the Hilleberg tents are kinda unbeatable. Cons are price and weight

    That's not a tent, it's a kite.

Look for something with a relatively low profile and plenty of guylines. Obviously mountaineering tents are purpose built for this situation, but that introduces all sorts of extra weight and breathability considerations you probably don't want to deal with.
