    I agree - some of my best nights on the trail were when I had the tent site area/ shelter or "stealth site" to myself to enjoy the night sky, peace and tranquility and sounds of nature.

    Totally agree. Hiked thousands of miles alone. Other than AT usually camped alone, and sometimes didn't see anyone all day.

    I enjoy meeting other hikers, but it is not why I am out there.
