Taking a quick break on the AT at the south end of the exposed part of Franconia Ridge on Mt Haystack at the Falling Waters junction looking north at Mt Lincoln. Hard to beat the weather, 100 miles visibility to the west. We may be short with snow down low but still 4 to 5 feet in the woods up high. I had a long sleeve merino wool shirt on for the length of the ridge.

And a quick look across the notch at Mt Cannon. 20240208_125742[1].jpg Mt Manfield is way back on the horizon. Its rare to get days this clear in the summer but pretty reliable in the winter.
Sure we have to pick our days but hard to beat winter hiking in NH.
