Default Newfound Gap to Fontana Dam 2/2/24

I haven't gotten a response from the Cherokee-based shuttles in the trail guide, so I figured I'd check here to see if anyone has any ideas.

The Hike Inn on Hwy 28 just a few miles from Fontana Dam 828-479-3677. Have them meet you at Fontana and leave your vehicle there, that way you are under no time restraints getting back at a particular time. Parking at the visitors center is fairly safe, TVA police monitor the area pretty well. They shuttled me and a friend in May 2021 from there to Clingmans Dome for like $120.

For me it's 200 miles and 5 hours drive, so I would ask $180.

From what I hearing on the boards and RamDino's channel, some early-thrus are bypassing the Smokies due to snow still on the trail. Potential for heavy blowdowns as well (nothing confirmed).

I don't know about the full AT thru the park, but someone in one of the facebook groups posted some great images of their trip from New Found Gap to Cosby.
