    Default The Road Not Taken

I was listen to the poem, "The Road Not Taken". and it reminds of the trail. Miles my feet did follow. Now that it cold and rainy, I long to follow it. Anyone else? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUaQgRiJukA

One of my favorite Robert Frost poems. I used to have it almost memorized.
Always reminds me of the Robin Williams movie "Dead Poets Society".

As a section hiker, I always carried a copy of "The World is Too Much With Us" by William Wordsworth. I still think of it often (along with the Frost poem), five years after completing the AT.

Here's Robert Frost reciting "The Road Not Taken": Robert Frost reads The Road Not Taken - YouTube

It's always been my favorite poem. It was the first that I memorized, back in 6th grade, so 51 years ago. Since then, I've memorized two other Frost poems, "A Late Walk" and "The Mending Wall."

Frost may be America's most accomplished and beloved poet. He's easily my favorite. I have a dog-eared, well-marked anthology that I've read many times. There are more than 300 poems included. I love perhaps 30 of them. There are others that I enjoy somewhat. And there are many that don't appeal to me. I don't enjoy perhaps 60%-70% of his poems, but he's still my favorite. Poetry is closely akin to music. Those who love Chicago or Glen Miller or Johnny Cash probably don't love all their songs.
