Exclamation New daily Baxter Park conditions phone line!

This will potentially help early SoBos and late NoBos.
    From the Park:

We have a new daily park conditions phone line!
    207-723-9500
Do you want to know what trails are open in the spring? If you can safely cross the Wassataquiok stream on the way to Russell Pond after a heavy rain? Know in advance of closed sections of the Tote or other Park roads? Find the latest general information each day at 207-723-9500.
Since park conditions often change day-to-day, we have dedicated a phone line to a brief park conditions recording, which will be updated each day around 8:15 am. While it won't tell you what is in bloom, we hope this information helps our visitors with general planning and being prepared for the ever-changing conditions in the Park.
If you are looking for current Park conditions only, you can now save time by calling this number instead of calling our reservations line.
Note that Park conditions will no longer be regularly posted to their Facebook page. An alternative written, online-accessible conditions report will be coming soon.

"[ATers] represent three percent of our use and about twenty percent of our effort," retired Baxter Park Director Jensen Bissell.
