I turned around on that rebar as it was wet and there was a big ‘ thunder boomer’ rolling in.
As I am mainly a solo hiker, caution took over as I couldn’t see how to climb up over the boulder and feared sliding down the mountain!
I have 2,000 miles on the AT and wish many times that I had carried on and reached the top!

By the way, I live about five miles south of Port Orange in Sugarmill, a temporary stop as my home in Flagler Beach is still destroyed from last year’s hurricane and I’m fighting my wonderful insurance company,
