Silnylon repair tape

I managed to poke a hole in my silnylon tarptent. I could not get duct tape to stick to temporarily patch it. The tape was sticky, it just would not stick to the silicone. Now that I am back home I'll sew a patch and seal it. Recommendation for an emergency patch for silnylon? Hot water in pot/cup to sort of fuze? Wipe with babywipe first? Wipe with hand sanitizer? Gear repair tape for silnylon?

Yes, gear tape for silnylon or use GE silicon caulk thinned down with white gas and then some type of patch material (old silnylon stuff sack?)

BTW, tape or thinned silicone, do wipe the fabric first with mineral spirit or ith a cloth with some soap on it and then wipe off with just a damp cloth and let dry.

I have experience with this tape, my young bird dog chewed my tarptent door on my new SS2, tape cleaned it right up and has held very well.
