    Default Pee bottle/bag recommendation

First post...I typically use a Gatorade bottle for occasional night emergency breaks. After all, who wants to get up when it is raining in the middle of the night? I searched prior posts and didn't find a better container. From my research a typical average volume per void is 250-400 ml (2 cups). I have seen some collapsible water bottles with wide mouths which will work for males. Any recommendations for weight and collapsibility for storage in my pack?

    I use a 16oz Nalgene.

It's a little heavier, but it's also sturdier, I know if the lid is on or off, and the mouth of the bottle is wider than a gatorade bottle.
The older I get, the faster I hiked.

I'll chime in from the womens perspective. I use a gatorade bottle with a pstyle. I carry it in an outside pocket with my trowel, TP, and the Pstyle. I use SmartWater bottles for drinking and to be sure I never confuse the 3.

I use a 20oz Powerade bottle and it has a nice narrow shape for packing. After every trip rinse, fill and soak with a little bleach for a few hours, rinse again and ready for next time. On my thru hike I was to the point where I tried to hold my breath the whole time I had the cap off lol. Also not for an occasional emergency, it's for convenience and it's every morning!

I prefer a Gatorade bottle. Try to avoid using similar bottles for pee, water, and fuel. I know my pee does not taste good.

To better answer the OP, I have a collapsible silicone bottle with a suitable opening, but I expect it would be much heavier (with a thicker wall, thick plastic collar, and heavy cap).

I use a Pure Leaf Ice Tea bottle. It is square so eliminates any confusion, even in the dark.

I use a 32-ounce collapsable Nalgene bottle. Lots of advantages over a Gatorade bottle.

That looks good, but it would be better with rounded corners at the base. The square corners tend to snag and abrade mesh pouches. Perhaps you have a better way to store yours.

I use the collapsible Nalgene. The corners of the darn thing are indeed kind of pointy & sharp, so I have just taken a small knife or nail clippers and just rounded them off. After I make tea in the morning, I use a little bit of hot water and swoosh the thing out with a drop or two of Dr. Bronner's, fold it down and keep it bundled with a hair tie/elastic, and it disappears neatly & discretely into my pack -- I've never had to worry about it. When I'm in town for a night or two, I do give it a good wash in a soapy sink and let it air dry, but it really never has been gross.

The couple times I didn't want to leave my tent in the middle of the night in pouring rain I used my second entrance of my half dome .
