    Default Pitman Campground

I was going thru some files of slides that I had scanned years ago. I came across one of a sign for Pitman Campground in Baxter State Park. This would probably have been taken around 1978. I googled and all I can find is a postcard ca. 1960. Does anybody know anything about Pitman Campground? Based on the sign it must have been close to Katahdin Stream.

Old name for Katahdin Stream campground. A guy named Fred Pitman ran it and became a park ranger after Percy bought it and gave it to the state.
