    Default Yearly Fire issues

To those who are out there, what’s the current status of any fires in California? Any trail sections closed? PCTA decisions?

thanks and stay safe out there.

The good news..........I'm not too far off of completing a design of a new No-Spill Fancee Feest stove that has the capabilities of holding 3/4 onuces of alcohol in suspension. Fuel won't spill out if knocked over. It weighs the same as the original Fancee Feest and has the built in pot support. The Rangers out west were very supportive and accepting of alcohol stoves that I had showed them and demonstrated their NO-Spill capabilities. (Starlyte stoves)
My website has been under construction and will be back online by next week.

I've been watching the trek north on the PCT and the last I heard the McKinney fire was almost fully contained. Miles 1600 to 1720 NOBO are closed due to that fire. I've heard rumblings of another fire further north in Oregon and there are more closures up there.

Going to be a tough year to do a complete thru hike for those hikers who didn't leave Campo really early or weren't super fast to beat the fires.

The comments about stoves was related to staying safe out there. Bears are attracted to the noise of canister stoves, not so to quiet alchy stoves. It's all about being safe.
