"....freezing temperatures and high winds....", this, on July 30.

Unfortunately another solemn, but important, reminder to all hikers headed that way.

The weather conditions were a surprise to many this weekend. The local weather forecasts were for 80 degrees and sunny with slight chance of late evening showers in northern NH. The actual weather was upslope clouds forming with high winds most of the day with the summits socked in the clouds. I was on a 4K in the pemi and was glad I had a fleece and some liner gloves. No doubt the observatory's higher summits forecast had to get it better but many folks just watch the local news the night before and assume the weather is nice up north.
