    Default Mosquito level Shenandoah NP

How are the mosquitoes in Shenandoah NP area currently? I will be flipping from HF in two weeks and want to know if I still need to carry DEET and maybe my headnet. My clothes are generally treated with permethrin for tick prevention.

I was doing trail work just south of SNP today. Did run into a mosquito or two while stopped for breaks, but we were early in the day.

I'd say DEET, yes; head net, unnecessary unless you're very sensitive or unusually attractive to mosquitoes.

Good info. I see the skeeter forecast is high for the next week or so. I will leave the headnet at home and lighten my pack the 1 ounce.
