    Default MSR Freelite 2

Hey all. I’ve been researching lightweight freestanding tents to add to my collection. I hiked with a bud who had the MSR Freelite 2, and was very impressed. Even more so, when I found out that his was an older model, with the current, new version being only 2 lbs. ( vs. 2.8 lbs) Sadly, MSR shows this model as being “ out of stock”. No big deal, just get on the notification email list, but we are now approaching 5 months since I signed on, and I’m not even sure when the out of stock notice was initiated. Does anyone have any updated info on the problem? Are there any retail sites that may have this tent? ( I have seen a few of the earlier, heavier models still for sale, but that’s not what I want).

We all know about supply issues these days, but at some point I’ll need to move on from the Freelite 2.

    Thanks for any updates.

For that price or less you may also want to consider the Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2.

Thanks to all. Once again, WB comes thru! Funny thing. I check REI all the time, don’t know how I missed this.
