    Default Parking options Georgia Loop

    Hi All,
I'm planning to hike the Georgia Loop in March or April. I'll be driving up from Florida. Where would be a good, safe place to leave my truck for 5 days? I know I can leave it at Amicalola State Park, but I really don't want to hike the Approach Trail; I've already hiked it 4 times, and it would probably add a couple of days to my trip. Other options would be Woody Gap, Three Forks, or Neels Gap...maybe even Above the Clouds Hostel??? Or any other suggestions??? Thanks.....

I've done the GA Loop a few times, and I like starting from from Woody Gap (works nicely going either direction). As for safe parking... I've not had any issues, but I feel like I've heard at least one story from just about any trailhead. Woody and Neels get a lot of traffic. Not sure if that makes it more safe or less safe. I suspect Neels would be the safest of the three options you listed if I had to guess.

I wouldn’t park at woody or neel, would opt for three forks.

It’s a 60 mile loop that incorporates the AT, BMT, and Duncan Ridge Trail...It’s a great route.

I read on Farout (Guthook) where there is also parking where the BMT crosses Forest Service Rd. 42, close to where you park for Springer....good place?????
