    Default New GA/NC sign

    New NC/GA sign was added!

Unfortunately, that first climb in NC hasn't changed!

I've been noticing that this year on FB. Looks good!

The NJ/ NY line could use a nice sign as well as WV/ VA

I love that sign, and the campsite is one of my favorites!!! Sorry to see the old sign go, but the new one is easier to read. Now, can I please have the old sign??? ; - )

Look at the picture closely, the old sign is to the left and slightly lower than the new one. Two signs for the same spot. Old and new together.

? Looks like old sign on right, new sign to the left. One for NB and one for SB!

is it just me or does the new sign make it look more commercial now?

Makes it a little more identifiable. The other was getting a little sketchy

I think you're seeing it that way because the new sign includes a "logo". So I can understand WHY you might think that.

I think that, the bright colors and that it looks plastic with a wood look, but maybe it just looks that way in the picture. One thing that sticks out to me about the signs down south (among other places) is they were almost all carved out of wood and didn't even have paint on them. I figured this was to compliment the outdoors sort of thing and I thought it was cool. Something just looks out of place at first sight, maybe commercial wasn't exactly the word I was looking for. Not saying anything bad about it but glad they kept the old one to. I always assumed that pipe grown into the tree was from a previous sign (?)

I like the new, larger design. The older ones blend in so well I've been known to traipse past them unnoticed.

Assuming the old sign hasn’t been moved, the long axis of the old sign is parallel with the trail, and located on the left side of the trail heading south.

So as I look at the photo, the new sign faces southbound hikers. So shouldn’t there be a similar sign for northbound hikers?

Wondering if it was placed by a well meaning traveler and not by the ATC

As has been pointed out, it does not match stylistically any other signs out there.
