    Default Ribble Trail around Bland

I'm going to be hiking Atkins to Pearisburg and will be crunched for time. Looking at the map I see a Ribble Trial that may shave off 5-6 miles.

Does anyone have any info on the Ribble Trail? I see it on Guthook so following it shouldn't be an issue.

Here you go - all about Ribble. http://rohland.homedns.org:8008/at/s...&sectionID=162

You should know that the AT into Pearisburg is a nice trail.Goes thru a really cool patch of woods and big rocks to your left and right..

The Ribble trail cuts off about 5 miles but also cuts off 2 of the finest views you will see in this stretch. If you do take the Ribble trail [NOBO] at least turn right when you reach the AT and hike a short distance to the tower for a fabulous view.

    Thank you.

My son works in Pearisburg and we both live in East Tennessee. He's going to drop me off in Atkins on Monday morning on his way to work and I'm going to hike to Pearisburg with the intention of being there on Friday when he gets off for the trip home. If I need to pick up a couple hours I'll take the Ribble.

FWIW, the climb up the Ribble is probably steeper/tougher than the AT route, but the AT route is not tough. I really enjoyed this section.
