I thought all the articles cited were interesting...It actually has me wanting to talk to some friends that are wildlife resource officers and ask a ton of questions. This years would also be hows the acorn count for virginia.
My love for life is quit simple .i get uo in the moring and then i go to bed at night. What I do inbween is to occupy my time. Cary Grant
I've followed several of these types of discussions through the years all over the glorious internet and my takeaway is that it's an individual decision on how you choose to defend yourself against predators, or if you even choose to at all. I've seen so much bias from proponents of bear spray and firearms. Some people just flat out hate guns and will twist every argument they can against them. Reality is, firearms have worked against bears. I've also seen firearm proponents who just can't seem to admit that bear spray would be more effective in lots of situations. Reality is, bear spray has worked against bears. Another reality, both firearms and bear spray have failed to protect some against bears.
Personal choice and I'm not going to fault you for yours, and please don't fault me for mine....
It is what it is.
