    oh, that shows it very well.....

    dots up the creek bed then it gets complicated with a few turns......


    that would be the thing that would throw most off......

    at one point, midway, it goes away from the creek, then meets up with it again, before those turns...

    Greg Hoover (a local to the Park hiker) wrote a book and while he wrote about manways, he never
    gave the route out...
    If that is the Greg Hoover that I am acquainted with, he is part of an adventurous group within the Smoky Mountains Hiking Club. Some of their "hikes" involve more creek wading and rock climbing than walking.

    he's the one that lives in sevier county so guessing (how could it not be) it's the same guy....

    and yeah.......the SMHC does a bunch of off trail trips...

    and their newsletters are a good source for manways.......

    a good read is their trip down raven fork a few years ago....

    i'll try to find it...
